From Where I Sat & Stood

As you have noticed, I've been slacking on the outfit posts. I promise I'm still getting out of bed and dressed every day, but I've been much more focused on other things, like physical therapy for my ankle, surviving the Chi-beria winter, training Walter, and recovering from our wedding and the holidays. Plus, we leave the house and return from work in the dark, so there's no light for outdoor/optimal picture taking - talk about feeling the winter blues!

That Dress for Girl's Night

Let's give it up for that dress!

1. You can wear it on it's own - it's just that cute, interesting, and flattering; 

2. You can wear it with some casual layers - to make it autumn and errand appropriate. 

3. And lastly, you can wear it for a night out with your favorite ladies. 

This is the occasion to mix up patterns & colors and wear your highest heels with that extra accessory, be it a second cuff, silk scarf, or chandelier earrings. If I were a guest attending my own bachelorette party (which is happening in two short weeks), I would wear this exact outfit. However, since I am the VIP, my attire needs to be a bit more dramatic and Carrie-esque, so I'm bringing out the tulle!

Jazz Age

Drop waist? Check. Long necklace? Check. Chin length, wavy bob? Check. Beading and pleats? Check. Statement lip? Check. I've got all the fashion elements of being a heroine in a remake of The Great Gatsby or The Sun Also Rises, except my love life is much more stable.

Fuchsia

As far as brights go, fuchsia would have to be considered my most versatile. After purchasing this linen jacket from the Zara sale, I have wanted to wear it every day. And as you can see from Instagram, I have done almost that! It compliments primary colors, moody darks, and soft pastels. Although I have to credit my Nars Schiap lipstick with broadening the influence of the color "fuchsia" in my daily life.

No Need for Shoulder Pads

I'm a sucker for blazers (obviously), so finding a unique, vintage one is my ultimate score. I just ensure that I remove the shoulder pads since I don't need any help in the big shoulders category.

Lately (April Edition)

Here I go again, declaring another "monthly feature," but this one is here to stay! Wanna know how I know? Because I buy something - whether that be a scarf with a gift card or a too expensive yet so flattering swimsuit (because I forgot mine when I went to Tampa) - every month. Therefore, there will always be some item (ahem, items), that I've bought lately that make me neglect my budget and buy more hangers.
