My 2013 Game Changers (Beauty & Hair)

Earlier this year, I outlined my hair, beauty, and face regimens. Those posts included my favorite products and while most of it has remained constant, there are a few newcomers that have infiltrated my Caboodle and medicine cabinet to change my game.

Urban Decay Free Love Eyeshadow
This pink is a perfect compliment to the browns and bronzes of my Urban Decay Naked palette. It adds a brightness that a gold alone cannot create. I've been using it all over my lid on a large eyeshadow brush to blend the darker crease and lighter highlighting shades.

Since growing my hair out in the past six months, I've had to adjust my styling products. With more length, I need something that volumizes more than just the roots and this lightweight spray adds body while still allowing for softness and movement. I'm sure that the way I'm blowdrying (less round brush, more upside down finger combing) has had an affect as well.

Lancome Colour Design in Edgy
While I have not retired the bright shades of Nars Schiap and Heat Wave, I have gone a bit to the dark side. After trying out a burgundy shade for our wedding, I was hooked. This purpley brown with a bit of shimmer is moisturizing, buildable, and fades well, meaning that even after time or eating, you can blend it around easily.

Blinc Mascara
The make-up artist at our wedding used this type of mascara and I couldn't believe that I had never heard of it! It forms tubes around your lashes instead of painting them like traditional varieties that can create the raccoon look due to oil around the eyes. Additionally, you can use it a top coat of sorts. I apply my traditional lengthening formula and follow-up with this one after the first one has dried.

After doing laser treatment between my eyebrows (ingrowns are a b*tch), this gel was recommended by my dermatologist to rebuild the skin cells. Since it transformed that area, I've come to use it for just about everything, including: cuts, the scar from my ankle surgery, a pimple, dry skin, cuticle cream, and even post shave on my bikini line. It's a complete miracle worker for my skin.
