Year in Review

While much, much more happened in 2013 than getting married...

Such as breaking my ankle, moving into our first apartment, seeing my mom graduate with her Master's, getting a puppy and losing a dog, making trips to San Francisco, Traverse City, Columbus, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Orlando, and Napa, leaving my 20s behind, as well as making memories and enhancing friendships at countless concerts, plays, movies, sports events, beach days, birthday & holiday parties, nights out, wedding festivities, dinners, and brunches...It's hard to define it as anything but the year that I became Dan's mrs.

Fully Transitioned

While not doing it on purpose, my outfits transitioned from summer into fall through this month. 

From bright colors and florals, rompers and chevron, crop tops and ankle booties, leopard and cognac, and finally, leather - fall's most ubiquitous material.

These outfits of the day didn't quite make the cut for a full outfit post this month, but they're still worthy of at least a shout-out. As you can see, I was really enjoying mixing colors (especially pink) without abandon!

The Summer Wind

Is it just me or has July been totally manageable weather-wise? I'm sure it means that August will do us in, but I certainly have enjoyed the ability to layer and to not have make-up dripping down my face!

Juned

 This month was full of mostly ups (trips to Traverse City & Columbus, Book of Mormon, my mom's Masters graduation, along with wedding and birthday celebrations), which made it easy to put any downs in perspective.

Mayday

The term mayday literally translates to "come help me," and that's just what I tried to do this past week. Due to the tornadoes in Moore, OK, two companies that we work with requested on-site trauma counseling for affected employees and their families. I was asked to go and immediately accepted. To see the destruction and listen to stories of loss and helplessness but also hope and love was inspiring and allowed for a much needed perspective adjustment of what is important. While I wasn't able to give a big donation or reconstruct a building, I was able to listen and give some hope.

March Madness

While I'm not a basketball fan, I can certainly get on board with the idea of brackets and determining an outfit winner when two are paired head to head.

The edgy plaid blazer.

The fur vest.

The jumpsuit.

The colorblock dress.

The leather peplum.

The preppy plaid blazer.

I won't keep it going to the Elite Eight or Final Four, but which two ensembles would make up your championship game? Or is that just unnecessary since there's a clear winner?

Birthday Month

Oh, what a month it has been. If the rest of the year keeps up this way, I will be tired, overstimulated, and spoiled, yet very, very, very happy. Here's to 30 and my best year yet!
