Crush of the Month: Damsel in Dior

While I know how much I am inspired by the many, many personal style bloggers whose sites I visit on the reg, you might not be. Therefore, I'm showcasing one fashionista every once in a while to broaden their influence and help with your daily inspiration. My next installment of the series (see the others here) is about Jacey Duprie of Damsel in Dior

Jacey states that the name of her blog is symbolic of her lifestyle - to never feel like a damsel in distress - and based on her simple, chic, and understated outfit choices, she never is. Her style has been featured in publications like Huffington Post, Vanity Fair, WhoWhatWear, Refinery29, and QVC in addition to appearing in ad campaigns for Gap/Old Navy, Saks, and Levi's. She appeals to all aspects of my style at the moment, which most notably is minimalism. With nary a print mix, color block, or arm party in sight, this damsel is showcasing the shape of her pieces as the trend. This simplicity is how I see myself dressing throughout the summer months.

To you, Jacey! Xoxo

Crush of the Month: The Marcy Stop

While I know how much I am inspired by the many, many personal style bloggers whose sites I visit on the reg, you might not be. Therefore, I'm showcasing one fashionista every once in a while to broaden their influence and help with your daily inspiration. My next installment of the series (see the others here) is about Lauren Gould of The Marcy Stop.
Lauren hails from L.A., but resides in Brooklyn and even if I didn't tell you that, you would likely surmise it from her style. The laid back slightly boho flare from the west melts into the buttoned up, black, and boots only rules of the east. In this in between weather that Chicago is experiencing, I can appreciate her mix of current trends, like cobalt, fringe, jumpsuits, and sheer with tried & true pieces regardless of the season like wide brim hats, flowy floral, suede pumps, and moto jackets.

Thanks for the inspiration & cheers to you, girl!

Crush of the Month: Collage Vintage

While I know how much I am inspired by the many, many fashion bloggers whose sites I visit every day, you might not. Therefore, I've decided to showcase one stylish fashionista per month to broaden your scope of inspiration and their influence, because they deserve it! My next installment of this series (see the others here) in giving credit where credit is due is about Sara of Collage Vintage.

This Madrid-based blogger was introduced to me by WhoWhatWear (thankyouverymuch) only a few months ago. While her "about" sections on social media are sparse, she clearly has a  knack for exemplifying the type of "street style" that is all the rage around the world: mix of high & low, clean lines, lots of black, and enviable accessories (including her mane with the on trend "flip" included).

Crush of the Month - Eat. Sleep. Wear.

While I know how much I am inspired by the many, many fashion bloggers who I visit every day, you might not. So, I've decided to showcase one stylish fashionista per month to broaden your scope of inspiration and increase their influence, because they deserve it! My next installment of this series (see the others here), in giving credit where credit is due, is about Kimberly Pesch of eat.sleep.wear.

If there was a definition of the "weekend warrior" style, this girl would be it! She has the ability to put together a cold weather ensemble that is just as appropriate for brunch as it is for dinner & drinks. The key items she uses are statement jeans (tattered, embellished, patterned, colored, or coated), oversized sweaters and an overcoat with leather accents. Also, she never forgets the functional yet chic accessories, like a beanie, glasses, a fur or wool scarf, and bright lipstick. This fool proof outfit will be your new go-to for every weekend from now until May.

To you, Kimberly!

Crush of the Month - Allergic to Vanilla

While I know how much I am inspired by the many, many fashion bloggers who I visit every day, you might not. So, I've decided to showcase one stylish fashionista per month to broaden your scope of inspiration and increase their influence, because they deserve it! My next installment of this series (see the others here), in giving credit where credit is due, is about Carlina Harris of Allergic to Vanilla.
This stylish San Franciscan is the most recent addition to my social media feeds and I am certainly the better for it. In fact, I can credit her for my new obsession with oversized blazers (aka men's sport coats). While I have yet to learn about her professionally or personally, I can certainly tell that she has fun  - I mean, the name of her blog says it all! She makes menswear shapes and textures feminine and chic like I thought only Jenna Lyons could do. Plus, when I was grieving the loss of my ability to wear high heels, she made me confident that flats or low heels could be sexy and flattering too.

To you, Carlina!

Crush of the Month - Bittersweet Colours

While I know how much I am inspired by the many, many fashion bloggers who I visit every day, you might not. So, I've decided to showcase one stylish fashionista per month to broaden your scope of inspiration and increase their influence, because they deserve it! My next installment of this series (see the others here), in giving credit where credit is due, is about Veronica Popoiacu of Bittersweet Colours.
Ironically, I discovered Veronica when she commented on one of my posts! Despite having the confidence in my sense of style to start a blog, I had only been posting outfit photos for two months at this time. So needless to say, having someone of this fashion caliber complementing me was just awesome and I've been a daily fan every since. Originally hailing from Romania, Veronica currently lives in Pennsylvania as a free lance artist. Unlike some of us who are guided by the theme of an outfit on a given day, be it corporate powerhouse, grungy chic, boho princess, or preppy in plaid, she is guided by the color combinations she wants to wear, such as red and camel, teal and mustard, oxblood and lavender, or black and white. With this being the focus, she maintains a minimalist structure to her outfits and the clean lines allow the colors to speak for themselves. No wonder she was all over the street style blogs at this season's NYFW.

To you, Veornica!

Crush of the Month - Thankfifi

While I know how much I am inspired by the many, many fashion bloggers who I visit every day, you might not. So, I've decided to showcase one stylish fashionista per month to broaden your scope of inspiration and increase their influence, because they deserve it! My next installment of this series (see the others here), in giving credit where credit is due, is about Wendy Gilmour of Thankfifi.
At the onset of blogging in 2011, Wendy was quickly recognized by newspapers, magazines, and style websites in her native Scotland as a force in the blogging world. I recently discovered her through the Lucky Community and was immediately smitten, and not just because of the fluffy Mr. K. This girl is a pro at remixing items in her closet, like the yellow crew neck sweater seen below. Whether it's under a belted plaid scarf, with a tweed jacket and leather shorts, or tied around her waist, each wearing of this seemingly simple staple is new and inspired. Plus, she has an obvious confidence to rock the seemingly "hard to pull off" trends, such as a belt purse, overalls, fringe boots, or a denim baseball cap. This Scot is certainly one to watch.

To you, Wendy!
