No Need for Shoulder Pads

I'm a sucker for blazers (obviously), so finding a unique, vintage one is my ultimate score. I just ensure that I remove the shoulder pads since I don't need any help in the big shoulders category.

White Out

Maybe it's all the wedding planning, and by that I mean my fab MOH finalizing plans for my wedding shower and bachelorette party and me being lazy and feeling loved, but I'm in the mood to wear white! Even though it will take at least one more bottle of tan moisturizer to make my appendages worthy to stand up to it, I can't wait to incorporate a few of these pieces with some tropical print, pastels, camel, stripes, black, or cobalt.

:: A flounce skirt is more flattering than a skater skirt, and more playful than a peplum skirt ::

:: A drape collared vest adds structure and coverage for a silky tank on casual fridays ::

:: A textured peplum (with a back cut-out) is perfect with floral shorts at the the music fest ::

:: White oxfords add a gentleman's touch to a floral skirt or distressed jeans ::

:: A beaded necklace with gold and bronze tones (and no weight) will be your summer statement ::

Spring Fever

It might be because I am in North Carolina this week and it's a balmy 65 degrees, but I'm thinking spring! It's time to retire my tights and and recreate any of these warmer weather outfits...who's with me?

Laced

The Lucky Community started a contest entitled "Show Us Your Lucky" where the members (all fabulous fashion bloggers) interpret looks from this month's Lucky magazine. The story "Wear a Little...Wear a Lot" featured global and lace as two of the trends to try. For the lace look, I chose all different patterns of lace, but in classic black & white they don't compete. Yesterday, I rocked the global look, so check it out here

Fisherman's Net

As I shared in this post, one of my favorite looks for the holiday was an oversized fisherman sweater and a lace skirt. It's a perfect example of high/low, especially with a jewel drop earring. Speaking of, can we talk about the color emerald? It's the Pantone color of the year and I find myself reaching for these earrings with any neutral outfit to add a pop of color and feel fancy, like Elizabeth Taylor or something. Maybe I'm also really feeling emerald because it's the shape of the diamond in my engagement ring. Whatever the reason, I can't wait to purchase this and this to get the look without the hefty price tag of the actual gem.

Furry, But Friendly

Despite the fact that I despise anything that sheds, I cannot get enough of anything faux fur. I'd imagine that this is how my mother felt upon welcoming home a yellow lab after years of Maltese pups. You love 'em so much that you don't mind cleaning up the hair. Therefore, I'll just put a lint roller in my purse and call it a day.

Mixed Emotions

I don't know about you, but I have mixed emotions coming into a new season. I'm incredibly excited about the weather, yet completely anxious about what to wear. With questions such as: What will still be in style from last year? What will transition from summer to fall? When is it time to break out a thick sweater, leather, or a fur accent? It can leave a girl stumped in front of her closet. That's where I have been this past week...scratching my head whilst staring at my clothes, trying on eight different outfits, and then tossing them on the floor when they felt stale. I haven't determined yet how to get out of this rut, except to buy, buy, buy and consign, consign, consign. Since that option sounds expensive, I've taken a step back, repeated some outfits (the horror!) and will gain some new inspiration from Pinterestfellow fashion bloggers, and you...my readers! What items have you found that are key pieces for this time of year? What's your favorite outfit you've put together recently?
