Lately (April Edition)

Here I go again, declaring another "monthly feature," but this one is here to stay! Wanna know how I know? Because I buy something - whether that be a scarf with a gift card or a too expensive yet so flattering swimsuit (because I forgot mine when I went to Tampa) - every month. Therefore, there will always be some item (ahem, items), that I've bought lately that make me neglect my budget and buy more hangers.

I have an apartment with the love of my life, a walk in closet, my own bathroom, a leopard chair, and a pillow top mattress. This most certainly is my dream.

Neon Streak

If my mom can pair neon with non-neutrals, well gosh darn it, so can I!

Momma Wears...

Blog readers meet my mom. Mom say "hello" to the blogosphere. Just like my fiance, I've recruited her to be occasionally featured here for a bit of variety.

If there are two trends for spring/summer that I am pumped about it's neon yellow and mint, especially together! Since mint is one of my wedding colors, I'm drawn to anyway and it flows so well as a color blocking option with brights rather than only pairing them with the more expected neutrals, like black or white. As you can see, neon jeans and a flowy blouse in ivory with a mint scarf and gold accessories is perfect for a dinner out on the patio, which is just what we did during our trip to Tampa!

Crush of the Month - This Time Tomorrow

While I know how much I am inspired by the many, many fashion bloggers who I visit every day, you might not. So, I've decided to showcase one stylish fashionista per month to broaden your scope of inspiration and increase their influence, because they deserve it! My second installment of this series (see the first here), in giving credit where credit is due, is about Krystal Bick.

Krystal Bick is the author of the blog This Time Tomorrow in San Francisco who works in fashion, and therefore, can take sartorial freedom in a perfect climate. So jealous! She taught me how to dress up a beanie, gray sweatshirt, and Hunters while also making me realize I need a pair of overalls, white pumps, and slouchy leather pants. I also have to credit her with my purchase of a Michael Kors gold watch, snakeskin booties, and a pair of statement sunnies. There is a certain way that she is able to  be minimal with maximum impact. Since I almost always layer (or overlayer), I have learned that a shirt and skirt combo can still provide interest with the right shape, colors, or textures.
