A Memorable September

I was so excited my bachelorette party weekend, which occurred on September 28. My maid of honor and I went up to Lake Geneva on Friday to have a relaxing dinner that would then be followed by some other fab ladies joining us for a wine tasting and night out on Saturday. However, our date night was rudely interrupted when my platform heel guided me off the sidewalk and I fell. It turned out that I had broken my ankle in two places! After the ambulance ride and a few hours in the ER, I was casted and sent on my way with crutches that I soon traded in for a wheelchair that we borrowed from the hotel. I thought everything was ruined and I had no idea how I was going to socialize or even be vertical, but with kind and encouraging words from my maid of honor and fiancĂ© (who drove up as so on as he heard the news), I realized that I could still have fun and that the pain from sitting around those I love would be no different than if I was pouting at home! So I put on my tutu (took some of the prescribed pain meds) and it turned out to be the most memorable of weekends and I am so thankful for all the love and support and pampering I got from my ladies.
I have an orthopedic appointment today to determine the prognosis and to hopefully be cast free by our wedding - wish me luck!
